Luxury?

I'm going to go ahead and state the obvious by saying that I absolutely love fashion... but I love things that make fun of fashion a tiny bit more. Like my new paper Birkin right here. Don't get me wrong, walking through the made-up, fake paradise that is Thailand, the knock-off bag culture gets really tiring, really fast. Exhausting almost, especially for someone like me that indulges on the satisfaction felt when I hand over my credit card to pay for something that is new, exciting and just outside my price range. Well you've all seen the episode when Carrie attempts to buy a knock-off bag on a side alley in LA.

This bag is by a newly discovered, fantastic Thai brand called Wonder Anatomie. And although the paper Birkin is a direct Hermès copy, I see this more like an ironic tribute to the designer tote that make girls like me think investing 3000+ on a bag is money well spent. My new tote cost me about 100 pounds which surely most of you still think is way too much for a paper bag. I just could not resist the thought of how much confusion, laughs and double takes this one will end up causing.

The bag is really something! Too original to be a copy.

Although I must disagree with you on the "made-up, fake paradise that is Thailand" part. I don't know how you perceive it, but to some, Thailand is much more than just about fakes and knock-off bags. This "knock-off bag culture", as frustrating as it seems to be for some people like yourself, plays a huge role in the whole concept of Thailand and the atmosphere it possesses. It can be perceived just the way you perceived it or it can be seen as freedom and carefreeness, which makes Thailand a true paradise and is loved by so many foreigners.

Don't get me wrong, I love your blog and style, but sometimes the careless and depth of the conclusions you put forward here startles me.

these bags are not actually made out of paper. it's a special new binding technique where cork/paper is bound to leather to give it that effect, but it is still durable as any normal leather bag would be. this justifies its cost.

Its not the bag itself that would cause the laughs and confusion. Its the idiotic more-money-than-sense holiday maker that paid £100 for it. Especially in a country were women your age have to leave their babies and travel miles to find work then sleep in shacks for less than £100 a month. You are right, it is absolutely ironic.

so i've finally decided to visit this "talked about" blog to see what the "big deal" was...clearly its nothing interesting to me. sandra is just a rich little girl who spends way too much money on things and you all do nothing but entertain her b.s.
stop drooling over this and do something productive. you're just pushing her further into places where you'd never be in life that you'd wish or dream of being. in the end you will still remain the envious one who she doesn't give to shits about but herself.

get over this! and i have to agree on what was said about spending way too much money on a real hermes but yet she spends £100 on a "paper" leather MIXED bag.

seriously if you cannot afford the real thing there is nothing worse than a fake. ESP a hermes bag. even though its supposed to be "funny" its really quite pathetic!
